About artist

Paolo Mariotti was born in 1958 in Cagli (PU). He currently lives and works in Cantiano, a small and characteristic town in the hinterland of Pesaro. The Artist, Master of the iron technique, likes to define himself artisan-sculptor. His training began when he was very young, at the age of thirteen when he entered a small blacksmith's store where he learned the basics and secrets of all the artisan techniques of this ancient art. Over the years, this passion for working with iron becomes more and more alive, making it his job at the craft level, industrial but above all artistic, facing his path according to the methods of the past.
Paolo Mariotti's sculptural art is distinguished by the fact that it acts as a link between Surrealism and Conceptual Art. On the one hand there is a strong link with classical mythology that becomes a metaphor for the weaknesses of contemporary man, on the other hand it is clear that existentialism needs the symbol, the appearance of the object to narrate the doubts and questions that can not remain unheard.
The beauty of his works merges with the concept that the artist wants to hide, accompanying them to a lightness in the form, fascinating the observer, who from time to time, is led to search for the message and go beyond what the look captures.

There are many national and international exhibitions in which Paolo Mariotti took part, we mention in particular in 2019 at Umbria Art-Festival of Contemporary Art where he won the prize for sculpture. In February of the same year he participated in the International Exhibition Prize City of Porto Sant 'Elpidio winning the "Prize of Representation Council Marche Region" and in October the "Trophy San Crispino. August 2020 sees him participating in the "Contemporary Art Exposition" Art Bratislava at the Castle of Bratislava -Slovakia-. Participates in various exhibitions in Gubbio, Rome, Milan and Venice. We give particular attention to "Art Venice" at the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro in Rialto, Venice and Milan with the exhibition "Dreams of late summer". Artist published in 'Atlas of Contemporary Art De Agostini edition 2021.
