About artist

Fabrizio Pinzi was born in Pistoia in 1941, he has always lived and worked in Florence. He attended the Art Institute. The love and interest for everything that is art has never abandoned him but he began his artistic career in 1985, at a mature age. Surrealist painter, his paintings are a symbolic transfiguration of reality where the great enigmas of the past, present and future are perpetuated. His works are characterized by dreamlike and surreal atmospheres, symbolic visions of reality in which the artist exploring his interiority pours deep emotions, his fears, his desires and the deepest anxieties. Fabrizio Pinzi works with a strong stroke, he takes care of the drawing enriching it with meticulous details using a rich range of bright colors paying particular attention to the contrasts of light and dark creating a fascinating balance composition. His characters are as if stuck in a mysterious and disturbing dimension that seem to be waiting for a sign to awaken from their immobility and closure. On the style that distinguishes him, it has been written: "From the proposed figurations spring the component of the dream and the fervid pulsion of the imagination and the spirit of invention, fruit of the -magical touch of art- depositary of a submerged world, mysterious, enigmatic, composed of codes to decipher and interpret and that succeeds in penetrating the heart and the mind of the sensitive spirits. Pinzi is the spokesman of a modern and innovative conception of art, which, however, remains firmly rooted in the formulas handed down and perpetrated by tradition and in the stylistic influence recovered and acquired from the classics, even though he always resolutely avoids the principle of emulation and imitation. Specifying: "He does not want to copy or resemble any other artist if not himself and undertakes a path of consistent and conscious exclusivity. The primary intent pursued by him, is to think, to transfer and carry on the canvas strongly evocative images, which are transformed into symbols and metaphors, in the spirit of acute and careful observers and never disappoint himself, putting in front of new horizons to be reached, with enthusiastic propensity.
