Paul David Redfern. Born on February 24, 1958 in Leominster (MASS. - USA), after the first experiences in the graphic-pictorial field (1975-1986), in the nineties he embraces digital photography. In 1991 he realized, under the patronage of the Municipality of Gorizia, an artistic review of various regional artists. In 1994 he creates the "Photomorphosis"©: series of computerized photographic images. In 1995 in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City of Gorizia creates the international art exhibition "EurArt" which will last until 2007. In 1996 he was contacted by the national magazine "Progresso fotografico" and in the n° of October the first Photomorfosi® were published. In January and February 1997 is published on Applicando, the first national magazine for Macintosh computers and the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (Slo) invites him to hold a lesson on Photomorphosis ©. Thanks to the Know How acquired in the digital experimentation in September of the same year is invited as a speaker at the 17th Regional Congress FIAF. AGFA Italy dedicates him in the month of May 1999 a personal exhibition entitled: "Digital Photomorphosis - Metamorphosis of traditional photography". From the monthly magazine Computer Arts: "The Art of Photomorphosis. Discovering this original art form conceived by Paul Redfern - Paul Redfern is certainly one of the most active artists in the field of digital graphics...According to Agfa, which publishes an important series of Photomorphosis images, examples of which we see on this very page, these works deserve a place in the history of photography." In October 2007 his video "The earth" won the We Show Award for best online art video. The Photomorfosi® are now part of private and public collections such as the Isontina State Library, Satel Group, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Rijeka (Croatia), MOCA Musem in New York, etc. He participates, upon invitation, to various international workshops such as Video Film Festival Under 20, International Internet Days, Pixel Point International... In addition, an entire chapter (VII) of the thesis of the Degree Course in DAMS academic year 2010/2011 University of Udine (supervisor Dr. Claudio Domini graduating student Annalisa Secchi) was dedicated to his artistic project Photomorfosi ©.
Paul David Redfern was appointed Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, cataloged in the ERPAC (Regional Authority of the Cultural Heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia).
