About artist

Giovanni Grigoletto, aka GREY, is a self-taught artist born on June 4, 1986 in Vicenza.
Already in his early childhood Giovanni Grigoletto shows artistic skills so much so that he draws with wax crayons, pencils, markers and builds toys with everything he finds at his disposal. He attends the IPSIA, electrical-electronic sector where he gets closer and closer to illustration, starting from the most common cartoons up to the Japanese manga, and then he gets fond of the fantasy genre that brought him to what he now feels to possess, that is the closeness to the multiversal, to the myth, to the supernatural, to the allegory, to the metaphor and to the surreal.
However, he began to take seriously the idea of following and giving vent to his own predisposition and creative talent only once he had freed himself from a job he had been doing for eleven years in a factory, until he became fully aware of all that he wanted best for himself. Abandoned most of the things that made him a slave, such as - continues Grey - the fixed place in the factory, the superficial relationship with himself, the house, the extreme leisure, all excessive consumption, fashion, TV, the models of life defined as normal and appropriate to the current society ... he launched himself into the deepest adventure of being an artist.
So he created his first real work of art with recycled materials, recovered from the factory and the street, glue and wire mesh, worked - giving consistency to something that really reflected his soul, beginning to be called GREY "the tamed chaos" and beginning to include in personal processed multiple meanings, esoteric and mysterious, for a spiritual growth of being directed to the rebellion against society. Sculptures and paintings that Giovanni has begun to expose at the premises of acquaintances and friends finding considerable success and finding immediate appreciation with the purchase of works.
His sculptures, are made with man's usual waste - Giovanni explained - humanity is leading to the exhaustion of the Earth, in a frenetic destruction of every harmony, <<Every day we count tons of waste and waste enormous energy to dispose of them>> in all this waste, Grey is able to see clear shapes and distinct figures, a new life. He then decides to cut out, fold and revisit parts and portions of pieces that are heated and glued to other pieces, and finally colored with various types of paint. Obtaining the "cast" effect and the whole network-glue, becomes a system of synapses of the brain. The materials such as plastic, iron, glass, copper and cardboard thus assembled become bearers of an unquestionable message of brotherhood, of union with one's neighbor, of collaboration between different realities, existences, stories and worlds.
Grey has also experimented with musical instruments and parts of the body represented as symbols of union (between notes, universes, pulsations, harmony and life) and organs as fragments of the soul.
He declares << I believe very strongly that there is something deeper than the visible. An entity that moves the threads of this theater of ours. I thirst to discover and know the grace, the strength, the cunning, the intellect and the wisdom that originated the Creation and he concludes <<I would like, through my works, to be able to open the eyes of other souls, to insert a seed in their "essence" thus triggering a deeper awareness>>.

His particular creativity is seen by international brands such as Nike and Ridley Scott (Vicenza between 1994 and 1996) so as to be engaged in projects and advertising work. From 2006 to 2012 and 2018 they call him to design logos and decorations for the festival and stage sets. In high schools, family homes he teaches art lab and at events he is called upon for his performance art.

Many are the working collaborations for furniture stores, murals for public and private structures, decorations and fittings of windows and stores. They call him to speak at conferences about energy and awakening at cultural centers and radio stations. In 2016 he realized for the musical group Burley, the cover of the album "wrong time" and the following year he produced the music video. The same for the group Mugiwara feat DJ Wadi.
Many are the personal exhibitions and artistic performances, mostly in the Vicenza area, (a city to which he feels very attached) in which he engages, always finding great success. We mention those at the Basilica Palladiana in 2017 "...in lirica" and in 2018 "be-snob love art" in honor of V.Van Gogh. Of great visual and emotional impact for the city of Vicenza was in 2020 a large installation (8 meters high) entitled "Beyond any wall the 'love" exhibited in Piazza delle Erbe where the Demoangeli are the protagonists. From here a succession of exhibitions and presentations of these particular and above all representative figures. He will release interview on SkyArte (Rome), on Press as well as various interventions in Radio.
