About artist

Giulia Quaranta Provenzano, aka GQP, was born on 11/07/1989 in Imperia (Italy).
When she was only 6 years old, she took her first photo with her personal analogue camera, given to her by her parents on a school trip to the Automobile Museum in Turin. Her strong vocation for this precious companion did not go unnoticed by the professionals to whom rolls upon rolls of film are brought every week to be developed, and all of whom do not believe it possible that these are shots taken by a little girl.
However, Giulia soon fell in love with every other form of art, whatever the instinctive and distinctive idiom in her DNA: from cinema to entertainment, from literature to poetry. Tirelessly she reads, writes, draws, spends a lot of time in contact with nature (sea, plains, hills and mountains indifferently) and often loses herself in listening to and observing adults and how they dress, comb their hair, apply make-up and relate face to face. She loves beauty and is spontaneously inclined to reflection; since childhood she has been an introvert and an analytic, who does not lack irony and the madness of those who are too stubborn and ambitious to feign non-existent interests, but whose strong sense of duty, taught to her, has always led her to search for a never-ending balance between what can be changed and what should perhaps only be accepted. And so it is that in the art photographs on fine canvas, what emerges is an unequivocal tension between the black from which everything comes and to which everything returns, often dominating the background, and the extraordinarily vivid and brilliant colours delimited by marked outlines as if to eternalize the essential.
With his family he has travelled almost all over Italy for solo and group exhibitions, to name but a few, the "La Signora delle Stelle" art competition in memory of Margherita Hack, the Milan Biennale, the "Il Carnevale dell'Arte a Venezia" exhibition and again in Venice in the context of the Art Biennale in this famous lakeside city. In spite of his young age, GQP has also received prestigious awards such as the Salvador Dali Award presented in Florida, the Caravaggio Award in Malta, the Bienal de Canarias Award in Las Palmas, the Miami Meets Milan Award, the Biennale Sgarbi Award, the Canaletto Award, the Ambassador of Art Award as representative of Italian art in Istanbul, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo, and became one of the sought-after and selected protagonists of the art volume "Maestri d'Oggi", of the catalogue "Artisti '19" for Mondadori Store and of CAM Catalogo dell'Arte Moderna n. 55, Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori/Cairo Editore.

By necessity a material Inspector of Management for the first insurance company in the country, Giulia has never given up in the face of what is for her both poison and medicine: the dream of dedicating herself entirely to Art, and since 2013 she has worked as a reporter and collaborating journalist for various national online and print publications, and is now a radio speaker in the role of music critic. Finally, in July 2020, the 31-year-old will continue her acting career, putting herself into question for the umpteenth time.
