About artist

Francesco Loliva was born in Putignano, Bari - Italy - in 1956. He graduated in medicine in 1983 and specialized in cardiology in 1988; he has been practicing the profession of hospital cardiologist for about 30 years. Despite the demanding profession has never betrayed his passion for photography in fact already in the years of university he began to take his first shots with his glorious Lubitel 2 (a Russian bioptic reflex), later joined by an OLIMPUS OM 10 (graduation gift) to get today's digital camera. For this professional and artistic union Francesco Loliva is defined "the cardiologist with a passion for photography". His virtual masters have been all the greatest Italian and international photographers, of whom he has been nourished by their works trying to capture their secrets. Catch the moment to relive the emotions and to offer the observer food for thought. Natural predisposition is for travel and landscape photography facilitated by the surrounding landscape offered to him by his land, Puglia.

In 2017 he started his real artistic rise where he proposed shots of great impact not only aesthetic but especially emotional. Really wide is his curriculum, many are the collective and personal exhibitions, national and international in which he participated, gaining considerable success from the public and critics. He has exhibited in major cities in Italy and abroad: Bergamo, Matera, Rome, Salerno, Venice, Vicenza, Lisbon, Stockholm, Cervia, Rome, Spoleto, Ischia, Capri, Venice, Paris, Moscow, Biennale Milan 2019, Alicante, Barcelona, Milan, Biennale Athens 2019, Art Fair Innsbruck 2020, Scope Art New York 2020 - Dubai - Biennale of the Normans - Museum Complex of Castiglione Fiorentino - Expò Bologna 2021 XI edition - City of Budapest - Paris Art Expo 2021.

One of his works is on permanent display at the MACO Museum in Veroli (Frosinone).

His photographic works are published in several catalogs of the sector: Catalogo Arte Mondadori N.55 and N.56 - in the Atlas of Contemporary Art 2020 and 2021 - Yearbook Artists '20- Art Leader - Yearbook Artists 2021.

Personal publications: in July 2017 "Un inverno a savelletri", a collection of images captured during a winter stay in Savelletri di Fasano, a small and dynamic fishing village in the province of Brindisi. In December of the same year he published a photographic story entitled: "Valle d'Itria - Amore a prima vista" in which he tells of an entrepreneur from Bolzano who for business reasons arrives in Valle d'Itria and falls in love with the beauty of this land.
In October 2020 comes out in bookstores with "Photography and Emotions" a collection of works of recent years.
